- Pack your breeziest outfits
The Caribbean is in the tropics so we have warm weather all year round so there is no need to pack a heavy jacket and don’t forget your sun hats and shades. Cotton is comfortable.
- Try the rum
Every island is different but most of them share a history of rum making. Try the rum and other signature alcohols of all the islands if you’re of legal drinking age which is typically 18.
- Walk with your sunscreen and bug spray
These are essentials for a pleasant time in the tropics. Use a coral reef safe sunscreen if you plan on swimming in the sea.
- Carry cash
Most islands accept the United States currency and many establishments don’t take card nor apple pay, having cash is essential for getting a snow-cone on the beach or a beer from a rum shop.

Avoid swimming alone, always go with a partner or group to ensure safety.
- Language barriers
Every island is different, Islands have different official languages such as English, Spanish, French and Dutch. You can use translators to communicate or learn a bit of the language from locals during your stay.
